Cookie Policy

What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the website to remember your preferences, understand how you interact with the site, and provide a better user experience.

Cookies can be "session cookies" (deleted when you close your browser) or "persistent cookies" (remain on your device for a set period or until deleted).

Cookies We Use

We keep it minimal: JinaSoft uses only essential and analytics cookies. We do not use advertising cookies, remarketing cookies, or sell data to ad networks.

Essential Cookies

  • jinasoft_theme — stores your light/dark mode preference (localStorage, not a cookie)
  • jinasoft_session — security token for authenticated sessions (localStorage)

Analytics Cookies

  • _ga — Google Analytics client ID (expires 2 years)
  • _ga_DS9WC7H8GP — Google Analytics session data (expires 2 years)
  • _gid — Google Analytics session identifier (expires 24 hours)

Analytics in Detail

We use Google Analytics 4 (Property ID: G-DS9WC7H8GP) to understand how visitors interact with our website. GA4 collects:

  • Pages visited and time spent on each page
  • Referral source (how you found our site)
  • Device type, browser, and operating system
  • Geographic location at country/city level
  • Events such as button clicks and form interactions

Google Analytics data is processed by Google LLC in accordance with their Privacy Policy. IP anonymization is enabled — we do not store full IP addresses.

Local Storage

In addition to cookies, we use browser localStorage for certain preferences. Unlike cookies, localStorage data is not sent to our servers — it stays entirely on your device:

  • jinasoft_theme — your light/dark mode preference
  • jinasoft_session — authentication token (cleared on logout)

You can clear localStorage at any time via your browser's developer tools or by clearing your browser's site data.

Managing Cookies

Most browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can:

  • View cookies stored by our website
  • Delete individual cookies or all cookies
  • Block cookies from specific websites
  • Block all third-party cookies
  • Set your browser to notify you when cookies are being set

Note that disabling cookies may affect the functionality of this and other websites. Essential preferences like your theme setting will need to be reapplied after clearing cookies.

Opting Out

You have several options to opt out of tracking:

  • Google Analytics: use the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout)
  • Browser settings: block third-party cookies in your browser preferences
  • Private/Incognito mode: prevents persistent cookies from being stored
  • Browser extensions: ad blockers and privacy tools such as uBlock Origin

Policy Changes

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology or regulation. The "Last updated" date at the top indicates when this policy was last revised. We recommend reviewing this page periodically.
